In
2005, the Sunset District Autumn Moon Festival (SDAMF) Committee
began a new tradition in the Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco
by hosting a popular Autumn Moon Festival. The celebration marked
the first of its kind in the Sunset. It is the only annual cultural
community celebration in the district. Historically, the Autumn
Moon Festival has been a time to reflect on the importance of
family and community. Here in the Sunset, it is an opportunity
to invite others from around the city to sample

the diverse tastes and talents that our neighborhood has to offer.
Through its all-volunteer staff, the SDAMF Committee has continued
the tradition annually to show its appreciation for its friends
and neighbors by celebrating and exploring San Francisco's diversity
and helping others learn more about the rich cultural tradition
surrounding the Autumn Moon Festival. |

community leaders and organizations from not only the Sunset neighborhood,
but all of San Francisco and its neighboring cities, to share
in the excitement of honoring an ancient custom. The event includes
lion dances, arts and crafts, traditional performances, delicious
food and product vendors, and exhibitors from community organizations
and government agencies. Its impressive and unique on-stage artistic

Festival-goers, calling the program "the best in the city,
bar none" among cultural festivals. We are proud to bring
such a quality event for everyone to enjoy. |
